Why I love these cinnamon almonds

  1. This recipe takes VERY little time or effort.
  2. After just a few minutes you get a homemade holiday snack that tastes great.
  3. I often see candied nuts, or spiced nuts for sale around the holiday season and I don't always appreciate the ingredients listed on the label. Plus, they’re usually WAY too sweet and a sugar headache comes quickly.

Now that I have this awesome recipe to make my own at home, it’s been awesome.

Ingredients Needed to Make these Holiday Nuts

  • Coconut oil, melted - Refined or unrefined both work here.
  • Cinnamon - This ingredient is really the star of the show - that spicy holiday flavor tastes so great on the almonds.
  • Sugar - I like to use coconut sugar, you can use what you have and what you like best. My sister and brother-in-law love monkfruit as a sugar-free alternative. Monkfruit sweetener is a more natural, low glycemic index sugar substitute. We've used this kind and it works great in this recipe!
  • Roasted almonds - You can purchase almonds already roasted, or buy the raw almonds and roast them yourself.

Tools used to make these cinnamon spiced almonds

  • Bowl or mason jar - To mix everything together. Use what you have here.
  • Baking sheet to roast the almonds - Again, use what you have.

If you're making these holiday nuts to give away as a gift, you'll want some sort of packaging.

These nuts would make an awesome homemade food gift. Make a big batch (super fast), package them into little bags and you've got Christmas gifts covered. Here are a few ideas for packaging them up.
